Citrus Oil Recovery System

Brown Citrus Oil Extraction technology is inherently designed to adjust to changing fruit conditions. Use of discrete equipment allows for continuous removal of peel oil while leaving the fruit intact. The free oil mixture produced reduces centrifuge requirements, eliminates the need for post-processing, requires no enzymes, and produces 100% pure citrus oil in about 15 minutes. Read More »

Citrus Sizing Equipment

Brown customized citrus sizers offer the ability to adapt to accurately size and distribute various types of citrus fruit for processing. The volume of fruit to be processed and the types and numbers of citrus juice extractors to be utilized determines the configuration of the citrus sizer. The configuration of the citrus sizer is the combination of the number of “runs” or sizing lanes and the length of the sizer or number of “bays”. Read More »

Industrial Citrus Juice Extracting Systems

Brown citrus extraction systems produce the finest tasting fresh and concentrated juice products. The reaming principle used in our Premium Juice Extractors is very similar to a hand reamer used at home. Brown citrus juice extractors use air cushioning to maximize yield while leaving the peel intact, minimizing citrus oil and off-flavors from entering the juice. The result is a fresh squeezed juice with wholesome flavor, vibrant color, juicy pulp and low peel oil. Read More »

Paddle Finisher

Our Model 202 paddle machine called an extractor, pulper, finisher, separator, de-water, classifier, scalper and refiner. Picture in your mind the following to see how these paddle machines work. The palm of your left hand is faced up and is a screen. Your right hand picks up some chopped fruit and puts it on the left hand screen. The right hand then rubs in a circle on the left hand screen trying to press everything above the screen through the screen to make a puree. This puree is thick with high solids and gives your best "yields". The material that will not go through the screen such as seeds, defects, or hard materials is pushed off the edge of the screen to become "pomace" or waste. This waste can have a very low moisture level as low as 60% to 70% moisture as with tomato pomace and is dryer than screw finisher pomace from the same raw material. Read More »

Screw Finisher

Our Model 2503 Series 2507 screw machine is called an extractor, pulper, finisher, separator, de-waterer, classifier, scalper, presse and refiner. Picture in your mind the following to see how these screw machines work. The palm of your left hand is faced up and is a screen. Your right hand picks up some chopped fruit and holds it in your right fist over the left hand screen. The right hand then squeezes the fist so that the juice or squeezed liquid leaves the right hand fist and drops down on to and through the left hand screen making a juice of low solids puree. This juice is thin with lower solids and gives lower "yields". The material that is still in the right fist such as seeds, defects, fiber or hard materials is pushed off the edge of the screen to become "pomace" or waste. This waste can have a low moisture level as low as 70% to 80% moisture as with tomato pomace and is wetter than paddle finisher pomace from the same raw material. Read More »
